Businesses on the Rue de Carouge says trade is beginning to pick up again after the tram started running at the weekend.
The service had been suspended for several months due to major works – which has led to customers avoiding the area.
The works are clearly not over - the road has yet to be paved and the trams will be stopped again next year for 6 weeks.
Despite that, customers are returning to the cafes and restaurants.
The renovations won’t be completed until 2027.
