Residents in Chêne-Bougeries in Geneva have finally been heard after years of complaining about the noise from the nearby Léman Express.
Ever since the new train network started, locals said the noise of the trains from the Seymaz Bridge was intrusive.
But it’s been agreed the bridge will now be completely covered with sound proofing panels after independent tests showed there was a problem.
The project will also widen the cycle and pedestrian lane.
Work will start early next year and last a year. It will cost several million francs.
