Lausanne Marathon road disruption this weekend

Drivers along Lake Geneva face major disruption on Sunday as the Lausanne Marathon shuts cantonal roads between Ouchy and Vevey from early morning to late afternoon

Police say the quais d'Ouchy and de Belgique will close from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon, with avenue de Cour inaccessible in both directions from 7.

Parking restrictions kick in on Saturday evening across Ouchy, avenue de Rhodanie and the Tour Haldimand.

Only emergency services and some residents will be allowed through, with roads reopening in stages as the runners pass.

Police and Lausanne city authorities are urging anyone heading to the area to take public transport instead.
