The Post Office is losing money as we’re all sending fewer letters – but an idea by the Federal Councillor, Albert Rösti, may prove to be controversial.
He’s the head of the Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication.
Rösti is proposing the abolition of the A and B posts and cut deliveries from every workday to only 3 days a week.
The number of letters handled by the Post Office has been declining steadily since 2001 and had dropped 40% in the last 20 years.
