As Genevans suffer from all the roadworks currently underway, many will be frustrated at the news that a recently completed section will have to be re-opened.
The section is by the airport. Two years ago, work ended on placing high pressure water pipes along the autoroute.
But a weakness in the pipes has been detected and work will have to restart.
Fortunately, not all the section will need to be dug up - but rather only a hole every 200 meters as reinforcing work can be carried out.
The cost will be CHF 80m.
The problem stems from a manufacturing error.
