Hundreds gathered peacefully on the Place des Nations yesterday evening, denouncing the attack on Israel by Hamas and demanding the immediate release of hostages.
Organised by the Swiss-Israel Association, the protestors listened to speakers, such as Israel’s representative to the UN, who called for unity.
Many in the crowd carried posters with pictures of missing people – including children. Some in the crowd were Israeli citizens who happened to be visiting Geneva when the attack was launched.
Security around the protest was tight – but there were no problems.
