A survey by yesterday’s SonntagsBlick newspaper shows the people are firmly behind the government’s Covid strategy – especially the elderly, who would like to see even stronger action against those who are unvaccinated.
There’s even strong support for compulsory vaccination.
Two thirds say the new 2G rules are justified and most people believe it’s right to insist on mask wearing indoors.
Older people, who are more at risk from the virus, are even more supportive. 81% of those over 60 are behind the regulations and 62% want forced vaccinations.
The people of the southern canton of Ticino are even more firmly behind the new rules as they remember the effects of the first wave. They also believe any lockdowns should be limited to those who are not vaccinated.
