The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation – the SSR - is being sued by the canton of Geneva for renting out part of its premises to a private company.
Two floors of the TV tower in Geneva have been taken by an international multimedia company.
The land the tower has been built on was given to the corporation by the canton free of charge – but under the agreement, it can’t make a profit on it and it can’t be rented out without the prior agreement.
The canton claims none of these conditions were met.
The SSR says it was unaware of such conditions and admits in it’s a legal dispute with Geneva. But it hopes the situation can be settled quickly.
