A SWISS International Airlines flight leaving Newark, New Jersey for Zurich on Sunday had to turn around and head back to the US shortly after take-off as a passenger became violent and started to attack cabin crew.
The passenger was met by police when the plane returned.
One crew member needed hospital treatment.
The flight had to be cancelled. Passengers were flown to Zurich on other flights.
