A mountain train in canton Vaud was derailed after it was hit by an avalanche.
It was running on the Bex-Villars line yesterday afternoon when a wall of snow crashed into it, dragging the rear car down the mountain.
There were no passengers on board at the time and the driver was unharmed, according to Vaud cantonal police.
The line remains closed and an investigation is underway.
